No decision on Horns Reef retrofit
1 July 2004
No official decision on whether Vestas will dismantle its 80, 2 MW turbines at the Danish Horns Reef offshore wind station to undertake repairs on land had been taken by late June. The repairs are needed to correct a range of defects, particularly on the transformers and generators (Windpower Monthly, June 2004). "The decision will be made soon," says company boss Svend Sigaard. "It is likely that the nacelles must be taken ashore."
