Most investors in closed-end wind funds, the traditional German method for raising wind plant financing, are satisfied with the performance of their investment, reports the German wind energy association. The organisation evaluated 959 responses to a wind fund survey and found the average value attributed to wind investments on a scale of one (excellent) to five (fail) was three plus. "This is a surprising result given that the financial liquidity of several wind stations is suffering due to several years of lower than average winds," comments association president Peter Ahmels. Of the investors surveyed, 78% had placed more than EUR 10,000 in wind funds; of these, 37% had invested more than EUR 25,000. Over 75% of those surveyed expressed readiness to invest in wind energy again. "Further investment in the renewables sector is very dependent on funds from private investors," says the association.
