British cry for leadership on grid policy

The wind industry is steadily losing faith in the government's ability to walk the talk on its energy policy. Green power can only reduce emissions if it replaces fossil generation on the electricity network. But without bold steps on rethinking the power system for the most efficient way to get renewable energy to the customer, the government stands little chance of meeting its much lauded clean electricity targets.
