Local developer picks turbine supplier for 200 MW

Turbine manufacturer Vestas is supplying 67, 3 MW machines for two wind projects being built in Romania's Costanta region by local developer Monsson Alma. The 201 MW deal is the first large order the Danish firm has received for Romania and includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the units as well as a long term service agreement. Vestas says the order confirms its positive expectations for the market. The first units are slated for delivery later this year, while Monsson Alma says both wind farms should be up and running early in 2010.
