TURBINES IN MADHYA PRADESH

NEPC- Micon is the first to install wind turbines in Madhya Pradesh. Fifty 225 kW units are going in the ground for MP Windfarms Ltd at Deogarh. A total of 18 are expected to have been commissioned by this month and the rest by March 1996. To accommodate an additional load on the grid of 50 MW, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board is constructing a new sub-station as part of its decentralised sub-station planning concept. "The small stations (15 MW) at potential sites help reduce line losses and contribute to a more reliable grid," explains Micon director, Madhu Sudan.
