A year after being named in a winning tender, Spain's Gamesa Eólica has clinched a EUR 7.3 million contract with Taiwan Power Corp to supply and install six, 2 MW turbines at Hsinchu, Taiwan. The project is one of a series of four for which the utility has issued tenders (Windpower Monthly, April 2004). Installation will start "within the first half of 2005," says Gamesa. Local firms will supply the towers and carry out civil engineering work. The contract marks another Asian foothold for Gamesa.
