Nordex Balcke-Dürr negotiates to buy Südwind

Balcke-Dürr, owner of wind turbine maker Nordex Balcke-Dürr, is negotiating to take control of Südwind Energiesysteme of Berlin. A memorandum of understanding was signed in August declaring that Balcke-Dürr intends to buy a majority of Südwind, says Balcke-Dürr's Hans Fechner. "Südwind has good variable speed pitch technology," says Fechner, adding that his company is looking for a partner to complement Nordex Balcke-Dürr's "stall machines built in the traditional Danish manner," especially for offshore developments."
