Argentina has a new wind plant. Although in severe financial difficulties, Ventis Energietechnik of Germany says it has completed a wind station at Pico Truncado in the Patagonia region of Argentina. The project is made up of ten 100 kW turbines. "The first three turbines to come on line in May last year are performing well with each machine generating around 2000 kWh in the first eight months of operation," reports marketing manager Hartwig Schlüter. The other seven units came on line last month.
