Wind securer than coal
1 January 1998
Investing in wind power plant is more secure than investing in coal powered generators, according to Frank Olsen of Danish utility SEAS. "We know now that we can rely on a higher production and at the same time wind turbines are becoming cheaper to build due to, among other reasons, newer and cheaper foundations," he told a meeting of wind turbine owners. Olsen also pointed out that wind power was not a "fuel" which governments were likely to restrict the use of and this was another reason for why it was a securer investment for the future than coal fired power plant.
