California kids are playing softball -- a sort of baseball -- on a new park that is unusual in two different ways. Not only is the SeaWest Softball Park in Mojave the first named after a wind company, it is also for girls. SeaWest Inc served as a catalyst for the park, opened this summer, with a donation of $10,000. Most of America's softball parks are dominated by boys. A local mother had become frustrated with the lack of places for local kids to play softball, especially girls' teams. Land was provided by Mojave Airport, and money by various companies. About 50 girls are playing on the field this summer.
