ScottishPower plans 30 MW at Inerliever in west Scotland

ScottishPower has applied to Argyll and Bute Council for permission to build a 30 MW wind farm at Inerliever near Loch Awe in the west of Scotland. The £20-30 million project is for 22 wind turbines on land owned by Forest Enterprise. The application includes plans for a habitat management plan that will involve clearing 150 hectares of commercial forestry to create foraging and nesting habitat for golden eagle, hen harrier and red throated diver. If approved, the wind farm could be operational in 2004.
