The organisers of the new Hamburg wind energy trade fair, running from June 18-21, have bookings from 160 companies and are expecting the industry to book about 200 display stands. "While the Hanover industry trade fair is important for image, and the Husum fair is a national event, we want this to be the international specialist trade fair for wind," says Sandra Robitzsch of Hamburg Messe und Congress. About 10% of participants booked so far are from outside Germany, representing around 12 European companies, plus the United States and Morocco. Spain will have a strong presence with a large country stand, she says. The trade fair is currently running a promotion tour around Europe to win more support. Around 22,000 visitors are anticipated. Although primarily a wind energy trade fair, a forum with workshops will take place, according to Robitzsch. Also the International Banker's Forum, an organisation based in Frankfurt, is preparing a renewables congress to be held at a separate location in Hamburg the same week.
