A new wind energy development company, Weom, has been started by a director of NedWind Holding, Dick Kooman. Kooman is also a former director of wind turbine company NedWind, a subsidiary of NedWind Holding. Weom has been set up to develop, build and especially finance wind farms in Holland and elsewhere. According to Kooman, Weom was established to reduce the financial risks of such activity for NedWind. Although an offspring of NedWind, Weom is completely independent and Kooman says that if a wind turbine other than a NedWind is seen to be more economic, Weom will not hesitate to use it. At the moment WEOM is involved in twelve projects in Holland and abroad.
