Thanks to royalty, wind turbines got lots of air time and newsprint space on the first day of Copenhagen Offshore Wind. Putting in his first public appearance since the birth of his first son, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark opened the event with a quick ribbon cutting ceremony. The first part of the prince's visit was anything but fast, however. In the conference auditorium he sat through the entire, two hour "industry vision" session, joined by Denmark's deputy prime minister, Bendt Bendtsen, and claimed afterwards he found it interesting. Television reporters, cameras and photojournalists then followed his every move about the hall for well over an hour.
