Arga 36 MW project complete

After more than a year in construction, the 36 MW Arga wind farm, on the Serra d'Arga in the parishes of Arga de Baixo and of Arga de Cima, was officially opened in December. Developed by Empreendimentos Eólicos do Vale do Minho (EEVM), a consortium comprising SIIF Energias, Finerge and DST companies, the EUR 40 million wind farm comprises 12 Vestas 3 MW turbines. It is part of EEVM's EUR 343 million 240 MW Alto Minho I wind development, which has already seen the 6 MW Espiga wind farm built on the Monte de Santo Antão in the parishes of Azevedo and Moledo. The remaining capacity planned for Alto Minho I, all consisting of 2 MW machines, will be installed at sites in the regions of Paredes de Coura, Valença, Monção and Melgaço in the next year.
