Small German wind turbine manufacturer, GET of Rendsburg, has installed its first GETDanwin machine in Brunsbuettel. The wind turbine is an improved version of a design produced by a former Danish company, Danwin, before it went bankrupt in 1991. GET acquired the production licence rights for the Danwin 27 machine. Over 300 of this model were sold by Danwin and it has now been brought up to date with improved blades for its 29 metre diameter rotor. The just installed GET Danwin 27 was built by HDW-Nobiskrug in Rendsburg within the framework of a co-operation contract with the wind company. A further 25 machines will be built by next spring while a 600 kW sister prototype model, the GET 41, will follow at the end of the year. The machine has a 41 metre diameter rotor.
