The US wind industry's annual show, this year with more than 7000 people in attendance, is close to being among the 200 largest annual conventions in the US. The event attracted a record number of delegates and a record turbine manufacturer turnout, with 14 mounting displays, up from seven last year, including eight of the world's top ten suppliers. The 14 were: Gamesa, Acciona and Ecotècnia from Spain, Nordex, Repower and Fuhrländer from Germany; Vestas and Siemens from Denmark; newcomer Nordic Windpower from Sweden; India's Suzlon and Japan's Mitsubishi; and from the host country, GE Energy, Clipper, and DeWind. Even the huge Los Angeles Convention Center felt the impact. Gamesa's full-scale presentation of a wind turbine nacelle was the largest item ever displayed at the facility and had to be specifically placed over a weight bearing foundation pylon on the exhibit floor so as not to endanger the parking garage underneath.
