Potential for wind farm on Wasauksing reserve

Indian Affairs and Northern Development Canada is giving C$56,000 to Wasauksing First Nation to study the possibility of building a wind farm on its central Ontario reserve. According to preliminary data collected by Natural Resources Canada, Wasauksing is located in an area that ranks in the top 1% for wind potential in Ontario. Proximity to the grid and local geographic conditions add to the area's potential. The Wasauksing's Parry Island Reserve is located on the east shore of Georgian Bay.
