Former Greenpeace campaigner new CEO at EWEA

Greenpeace campaigner Corin Millais is to be the new chief executive officer of the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA). He starts work at EWEA headquarters in Brussels next month. Millais, 37, has been a driving force behind Greenpeace's wind power campaign and recently launched the joint Greenpeace and EWEA "Wind Force 12" global blueprint for action on wind energy. Millais will be leading an association representing the sometimes conflicting interests of the wind turbine industry (turbine manufacturers and component suppliers) and wind turbine owners, as well as project developers, financiers and research institutions. He calls it "A fantastic challenge" and adds that he is looking forward to implementing a strategy which drives the industry forward in the policy and public arena.
