A share in a wind turbine as an innovative gift idea is being offered by Belgian cooperative Emissions Zéro, founded to build citizens' wind and hydro plant in Belgium and France. It is offering gift tokens of EUR 10 and EUR 25 that can be used to buy a share in the co-operative. Unfortunately, each share costs EUR 260, so either the giver has to be generous or the recipient has to make up the rest. Emissions Zéro, which launched the initiative just before Christmas, says it has so far sold around EUR 2000 worth of tokens. "It's a good beginning," says the association's Jean-François Mitsch. Emissions Zéro was set up in 2007 by Vents d'Houyet, which owns three turbines at Mesnil-Finnevaux, one of which is owned entirely by children (Windpower Monthly, April 2007).
