Jacobs Energie says it will install around 20, 500 kW and 600 kW turbines in Germany this year. Last year it installed five, while in 1994 it started in the wind business with the installation of a single unit in 1994. Twelve 500 kW units will go up during the summer for Windpark Dithmarschen-Süd where they will join four single turbines installed in Dithmarschen earlier in the year. Another three 600 kW plant will be installed with 60 metre towers in inland Brandenburg in the autumn. The company is now considering several technical developments, ranging from development of a 750-800 kW machine or even a leap into the megawatt class. Discussions last year to join with competitor Autoflug (since taken over by GET) came to nothing and Jacobs says it is not seeking to work with another company at the moment.
