Offshore research grant for Setana

Japan's New Energy Development Organisation has granted ยด10 billion for research into the potential for an offshore wind farm near the town of Setana in Hiyama. The wind turbines would be built on a breakwater that is under construction 700 metres offshore at Setana port. The research will focus on the profitability of such a project and the most suitable size of turbine. If the project is deemed feasible, construction will start next year.
