Four out of five people support the project

A survey of public opinion near the site of a proposed wind farm in West Sussex reveals four out of five people support the project. A local Friends of the Earth (FoE) group near Chichester canvassed opinions from nearly 1000 people door-to-door in Sidlesham and Selsey. Eighty-three per cent of people surveyed near the proposed development at Sidlesham were in favour, 5% were against, with 10% undecided. In Selsey 90% were for the wind farm, 5% against and 5% undecided. The survey results formed part of the evidence presented by Manhood FoE at the planning appeal in January. Sidlesham farmer Anthony Breton lodged the appeal after Chichester District Council turned down his application to install ten turbines on his land.
