KENETECH DONATES $50,000 TO NFWF

A new $50,000 donation for bird conservation to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), the non profit arm of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, has been made by Kenetech Windpower. In total Kenetech has donated $200,000 to the NFWF since 1992 and is a charter corporate sponsor of its "Partners in Flight" initiative, for which the $50,000 donated in September will be used. The initiative targets neotropical birds, migrators from the tropics to tundra areas which Kenetech bird experts believe are the most endangered worldwide in terms of their habitat, says the company's Bud Grebey. "We applaud Kenetech's vision and its on-going support that has enabled us to design such a successful programme that enables partners with diverse interests to find mutually beneficial solutions that benefit people and birds," says NFWF executive director Amos Eno of the donation.
