Germany's largest closed-end wind fund, the Prokon New Energy Fonds 3, closed last month with over 1400 investors placing EUR 28.2 million to provide the equity for a EUR 92 million project of five wind farms in the states of Saxony Anhalt and Brandenburg. In all, 52 turbines with a combined capacity of 74.2 MW have been commissioned. They are expected to generate 128 GWh annually. Prokon's next project will be even larger -- it plans to market a EUR 34 million fund to provide equity for a EUR 123 million project which will see 52 turbines (each up to 2.3 MW) across four sites. Together they are expected to generate 178 GWh annually.
