Tehachapi anniversary hike

Tehachapi wind turbines will be the focus of the tenth anniversary hike of a local environmental group on May 17. The Kern-Kweah chapter of the Sierra Club sponsors the annual hike to highlight a lesser-known, but nearby stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail on Cameron Ridge -- as well the area's 5000 or so wind turbines. The trail, which largely follows the crest of the Sierra Nevada mountains, extends from Mexico to Canada. Most years, the hike attracts some 20 to 40 people.
