Vestech Taiwan Corporation -- the Taiwan agent for Danish turbine supplier Vestas -- has won an order for 23, 2 MW wind turbines from national utility Taiwan Power Corporation. The order is for the first stage of the three phase Changkong wind development in Changhwa-prefecture in western Taiwan, which when completed is expected to be at least 120 MW in capacity. The first 46 MW phase will cost around TWD 2 billion ($63.3 million). Delivery of the first turbines will start in March next year, with final commissioning expected in the autumn. Tenders for the supply of the next phase are due to be issued later this year.
