Ireland's National Toll Roads announces further investment in wind

National Toll Roads (NTR) of Ireland is to spend more than EUR 200 million this year on wind farm and other infrastructure projects, after investing EUR 202 million in the year ending December 31, 2004. As much as EUR 142 million was in 113 MW of wind farm assets in Ireland and Northern Ireland. NTR owns 51% of wind farm developer and green energy supplier Airtricity. The group reports that in 2004, Airtricity's customer numbers increased 24% to 36,500, turnover was up 37% to EUR 127 million and the company had secured planning consent for Scotland's largest wind farm. This year, most of NTR's EUR 200 million investment will be in UK wind, says a spokesperson.
