Third wind turbine for Tokyo bay area

A third wind turbine is to be installed at the northern end of Tokyo bay area at Wakasu Kaihin Park by Tokyo's Koto Ward. Officials say it will be a 2 MW turbine operational by April, but no supplier has been selected. The electricity will be sold to Tokyo Electric Power Co, which is granting ยด40 million to Koto Ward for the project. The construction costs will be covered by the Tokyo metropolitan government -- an exchange for being allowed to build a waste-disposal plant in Koto Ward.
