The Spanish subsidiary of Danish blade maker LM Glasfiber, LM Composites Toledo SA, is currently building a 2500 square metre factory at Pontes in Galicia. The region is heralded to be one of the largest markets for wind turbines in Europe. LM Composites Galicia SA will make LM 13.4 and LM 14.4 metre blades to start with, followed by the 19.1 metre blade during 1997. "The factory has been built to meet the local demand for blades but will also supply to other areas of the country," says LM. The factory has been built as a joint venture between LM in Denmark and its two Spanish partners, Embresa Nacional de Militaries Santa Barbara and International Composites SA.
