Offshore potential study underway
1 January 1999
Work has begun on a study to assess the potential of generating electricity from the wind offshore around the coasts of Ireland. The IR£100,000 study is commissioned jointly by the Irish government and the Northern Ireland Department of Economic Development and is part funded through the EU's Interreg II program. The work is being carried out by Belfast company Kirk-McClure and Morton. A final report is expected by the end of April 1999.
