Wind developer Enertrag is celebrating the first wind station in France to have been brought on-line by a German developer. Twelve 1.3 MW Nordex N60 machines are now operating at wind stations at Merdelou and Fontanelles near Montpellier in southern France. The sites are 100 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea at 1000 metres above sea level where wind speeds average 10 m/s, Enertrag says. Work on the ¤21 million projects began in 1998. Shares in the projects will be sold from this month when Enertrag will begin marketing its first Franco-German wind fund.
