For the first time the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) has taken on a full time executive director. Christophe Bourillon, a French national, started his new job on September 1 and will be based in a London office. He is responsible for running the day-to-day affairs of the association and for developing EWEA's activities, including the promotion of wind energy as well as a service to its members. Bourillon graduated from Rouen University and Paris Sorbonne University with degrees in law and communications. He started his career in Paris working for the French office of a major US public affairs and communications group. He then joined the World Coal Institute in London as public affairs officer and was manager of public affairs and WCI's representative to the United Nations when he left to join EWEA.
