Danish power company Greentech Energy is seeking private or public partnerships to build wind power plants at several locations in Montenegro, including the Niksic area and along the Montenegrin coast. The development follows a meeting with officials from the Montenegrin government and its Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Investments. The Norwegian government is financing a feasibility study of wind power potential in Montenegro, including the installation of a 500 kW wind turbine. German developer Umwelt Kontor has previously proposed wind projects in Montenegro, which included plans to set up a local subsidiary. At the time, however, the EUR 0.07/kWh required for the power produced was judged too high by the Montenegrin government.
