The municipal authorities of both Lund and Eslov have put the brakes on a proposal by Eurowind to build six 1.5 MW turbines at Sventorps. The Sventorps site straddles both municipalities and is one of the largest onshore wind farms proposed for Sweden. The main bone of contention is highlighted in an environmental impact assessment report which suggests that local residents could "suffer from noise pollution and excessive shadows." Eurowind is 50% owned by the major Norwegian shipping line, Fred Olsen.
