Aerodyn Energiesysteme has celebrated its role in the presentation of Germanischer Lloyd's (GL) 200th wind energy certificate of compliance. Founded 13 years ago and based in Rendsburg, Aerodyn has been responsible for testing the quality credentials of 53 different wind turbine types, built by 21 international manufacturers, which applied for GL certification. The testing included 50 load calculations, 15 blade tests and involved 24 hubs, 17 machine mountings and 33 documents of conformity applying to seven turbine types entirely developed by Aerodyn. The 200th certification procedure was carried out by Aerodyn for the Dorstener Maschinenfabrik in a test of the stability of the bearings and the main shaft of a gearbox developed for an 800 kW wind turbine built by Theo Fuhrländer for his company of that name.
