Pioneer Asia Wind Turbines (PAWT) has picked Spain's Gamesa Eólica to supply components for 20, 850 kW machines for a 17 MW project in India. The EUR 7 million contract is PAWT's third with Gamesa machines, which will form an extension to its existing 8.5 MW Tamil Nadu development, bringing it up to 25.5 MW in total. PAWT is an Indian wind project developer and manufacturer of small turbines up to 200 kW. Gamesa will supply all components except for the towers, while PAWT will manufacture the towers and assemble the nacelles at its own factory and mount the blades on site. The contract brings Gamesa's installed capacity in India to 31 MW, all of which has gone to PAWT projects. In a previous deal, Gamesa delivered components for a 5.6 MW project at Muppendal.
