Moventas supplies gearboxes to Ingetur

Finnish energy components group Moventas is to supply gears for 1.5 MW wind turbines manufactured by Spain's Ingetur, part of the Acciona Group. Deliveries are scheduled to start next year and will include a planetary/helical-type gearbox custom designed to meet Ingetur's specifications. "Our collaboration with Ingetur began several years ago and this supply agreement will strengthen this long standing relationship," says Jyrki Virtanen of Moventas Wind Gears, formed in October as part of the restructuring of the Moventas Group. The contract will result in an expansion of Moventas' production base, the company adds. The financial terms of the contract have not been disclosed.
