UTILITIES LOOK AT HIGH WIND SITES IN COLORADO

A coalition of utilities is scouting out high wind sites in Colorado. The utilities, led by Public Service Co, started gathering meteorological data from ten sites this fall. The survey should last two years. The sites are mostly in the east of the state, says Chuck Rhodes of the coalition, which includes the Platte River Power Authority. Kenetech Windpower is also analysing wind sites in the Rocky Mountain state, a company representative told the Fort Collins Colorado newspaper
