Major order in China for Gamesa

China's Longyuan Electric Power Group has ordered 601 Gamesa 850 kW wind turbines in a deal worth EUR 240 million for 510.85 MW of generating capacity. The price, which includes two years of operations and maintenance, is for turbines without towers plus their assembly and commissioning. Gamesa says it is the largest order for wind turbines yet placed in the country and brings its China market commitment to 1200 MW. Delivery of the turbines from the Gamesa Wind Tianjin works to several wind farms in different regions starts at the end of the year. Gamesa's Tianjin factory has a 700 MW annual production capacity.
