Suez subsidiary buys French developer
1 July 2008
Electrabel, the Belgian subsidiary of energy giant Suez, has agreed to buy French developer General Renewable Energy and Technics (GREAT) for an undisclosed sum. GREAT brings with it 10.4 MW turning at Fitou in the Aude département of southwest France and a development pipeline of 615 MW through its subsidiary Alizé Energie. Another GREAT subsidiary, Accel Conseil, specialises in turbine maintenance. Suez aims for renewables to make up 18% of its European generating capacity by 2009.
