Support to renewables in Tamil Nadu

Although the new government in Tamil Nadu has barely taken the reins, renewables are getting attention. The industry can expect to see a higher portion of the budget and more incentives, say ministry sources. Tamil Nadu has already presented the draft of a renewable energy policy statement to the Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources. The state contributes 70% of India's wind power generation, with over 750 MW of installed capacity.
