Belgian utility Electrabel acquires two wind farms totalling 64 MW

Belgian utility Electrabel has acquired two wind farms totalling 64 MW in Portugal from Gamesa for around EUR 93.5 million. It fulfils part of a 2002 agreement for the Spanish firm to sell Electrabel 214 MW in Portugal, 150 MW of which is already operating and brings the Belgian firm's installed wind capacity in Europe to 600 MW. The two latest projects are the 38 MW Mourisca wind farm, now completed, and the 26 MW Fafe II project, still under construction. Both use Gamesa 2 MW turbines. Fafe II is an extension of the 80 MW Terras Altas de Fafe wind farm.
