Country's first 3 MW turbine commissioned

Finland's first 3 MW wind turbine is due to be commissioned this month. Supplied and operated by domestic manufacturer WinWind the machine has been installed near Oulu, WinWind's home town, on behalf of PVO-Innopower, an alternative energy development subsidiary of power company Pohjolan Voima Oy. Expected to generate 6900 MWh a year, it will be the largest wind turbine in Finland. PVO-Innopower currently has a 15% share of Finland's 82 MW of operational wind plant, with projects in Oulu, Kokkola, Kristiinankaupunki and Oulunsalo.
