Another 15 MW sold to Japan

Dutch wind turbine manufacturer Lagerwey will supply 20, 750 kW turbines to the 15 MW Aoyama Highlands Wind Farm in Mie prefecture. Neighbouring Hisai city and Oyamada village will own 51% of the plant, scheduled for completion in spring 2002. Other shareowners include Lagerwey's Japanese agent, NKK Corp, and private companies. Lagerwey has also agreed to supply 28, 750 kW units each to the towns of Esashi and Horonobe on the northern island Hokkaido. NKK has applied to the Japanese government for construction subsidies. Build start is planned for November 2001.
