Maestrale picks Vestas for maiden project in Sicily
Maestrale Green Energy, the Italian subsidiary of French wind developer Theolia, is using Vestas 850 kW turbines on a 29.75 MW wind farm in Sicily. The project, which will be the first to be commissioned by Maestrale, is located in Giunchetto in the province of Enna. The financial value of the contract was not disclosed. Turbine delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2009 and the project should be completed by the end of the year. Maestrale says it is developing more than 500 MW of projects in Italy.
