The British Wind Energy Association's 28th annual conference and exhibition was the biggest UK wind industry event ever, attracting a record turnout of over 2000 people. The conference delegates, exhibition staff and visitors included the major players in wind, wave and tidal energies, though wind was by far the dominant technology. Held at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre on the bank of the river Clyde in Glasgow, the event's chosen theme was "Securing our Future." Some 120 companies exhibited in the roomy facilities, making it the largest exhibition to date. In the conference halls, 150 speakers took to the platforms in up to four parallel sessions running at any one time.
