Wind output in Germany increased by 50% in past year

Wind output in Germany for 2002 is expected to reach 15-17 TWh, a 50% increase on the 10.7 TWh achieved last year, according to the International Forum for Renewable Energies at Münster university. The wind energy contribution will amount to 43% of the 40 TWh (8% of German electricity consumption) expected to come from renewable energy sources for 2002, says the forum's Norbert Allnoch.
