Repower wins order for wind farm delivery and construction at Aumelas
1 August 2004
As part of its planned push into France, German turbine manufacturer Repower recently signed an agreement with EDF Énergies Nouvelles (formerly Siif Énergies) to supply 11, 2 MW MM70 turbines for a wind farm at Aumelas, near Montpellier in the Hérault department of southern France. Repower is to provide the turbines on a turnkey basis, with installation due in the first quarter of 2005. Other current Repower projects in France include the installation this month of six 1.5 MW MD77 machines at La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast in association with local developer Française d'Éoliennes. The company has also been contracted to supply six MD77 turbines before the end of 2004 for the Téterchen wind farm in the Moselle department of northwest France.
