20,000 Iowa cyclists pass wind farm

Google Translate

An estimated 20,000 cyclists passed by a six turbine wind power plant in Sibley northern Iowa in late July. Indeed as many as 500 may have stopped to look at or even tour the site during a wind fair timed for the bike ride. Many questions focused on the largest turbine, a recently-installed 600 kW Micon 1500 assembled nearby in Minnesota. Five older WindMatic turbines make up the remaining 325 kW of installed capacity. The bike ride was sponsored by the state's largest newspaper, the Des Moines Register
